The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Master of Dental Surgery, called the NEET MDS, is an entrance exam administered by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBE) to allow admission to all postgraduate dental courses offered by the institutions in India. No exams exist for PG Dentistry courses in India besides NEET MDS.

Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET MDS counseling for 50% All India Quota seats, Central Universities/deemed and privates seats including ESIC and AFMC. Eligible candidates will have to register themselves for participation in NEET MDS counseling. There will be three rounds in the counseling process including the mop-up round. The counseling process is completely based on the applicant’s marks and ranks, institution seat availability, and other criteria like reservation. Counseling dates are yet to be announced by MCC. They will announce counseling dates after the results of the examination.
What Is the NEET MDS 2023 Date?
The National Broad of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBE) has closed registration for the exam on 30th January. This registration started on 9th January 2023. According to the NBE’s recent update, the correction window will open on 3rd February 2023. Candidates will be able to edit their submitted application form. The final edit will be available from February 10 to February 13 to recheck the images in the application. The examination is scheduled to be held on March 1, 2023. Candidates are suggested to check the brochure before registering for the examination and before the exam which includes eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and, marking scheme. Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be 20 years of age
- They must have a bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) from a university/Institute recognized by the DCI (Dental Council of India)
- They must have registered with State dental council (SDC) or Dental council of India either provisional or permanent
- Candidates must be completed 12 Months of mandatory internship before march 31, 2023
Examination will conduct in online mode. A separate computer will be provided to each candidate, here are a few pieces of guidance that you should know before attending the exam;
- Candidate should carry admit card, valid photo identity, and a passport-sized photograph
- Candidate should report to the examination center one hour before
- You should follow the safety instructions defined by NBE
- Do not carry food, electronic devices, or non-electronic devices to the examination hall.
Note – If you do not meet eligibility requirements, then your application will be rejected at any time as per the guidelines of NBE.
