Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main), formerly known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an Indian standardised computer-based test for admission to many technical undergraduate courses in engineering, architecture, and planning across colleges in India. JEE Mains syllabus comprises topics from Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and In-organic Chemistry and has a total weightage of 33.3%. Chemistry is considered as the most scoring subject with average scoring marks above 35 marks. 1. Is NCERT Enough for JEE Mains for Chemistry?
Yes. NCERT books are enough for JEE Mains chemistry. Many questions are seen directly from NCERT books and exercises. Approximately 80% of the questions come directly or indirectly from NCERT books.
If you read NCERT completely, you will be able to solve 65% of the questions. But if you aim to score more marks, then you are advised to refer to other books also. JEE Mains follows the syllabus provided by the NCERT. It is an excellent book for Inorganic chemistry.
