The National Board of Examination(NBE) in Medical Sciences conducts the NEET PG examination 2023. NBE has opened the correction window for the applicants, candidates can correct/edit their application in the correction form window till 3rd Feb 2023. 

The final and selective edit window will be available from February 14 to February 17, 2023. Candidates can rectify incorrect images and edit application forms in the final correction window. However, the NEET PG Counseling Process will begin following the release of the NEET PG 2023 exam results. 

The MCC schedules counselling on an all-India basis for 50% of the available seats. Only after meeting all requirements for admission and after counselling will admissions be permitted.

Who Will Be Eligible for Neet PG 2022 Counselling Rounds?

To participate in the counselling for NEET PG 2023, you must register for the counselling online and score higher than the qualifying cut-off, which will be released by the Medical Counselling Committee. 

MCC releases the qualifying cut-off along with the results. Four rounds are available for NEET PG counselling: rounds 1 and 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy.

The minimum qualifying percentile for unreserved/general applicants in NEET PG 2023 will be the 50th percentile, while the minimum qualifying percentile for SC/ST/OBC applicants will be the 40th percentile.  

NEET PG Counselling Process 

The minimum qualifying cut-off marks are required to participate in the NEET PG counselling process. 

The All India Quota has 50% of the seats in the NEET PG counseling, while the remaining seats are for central universities and deemed colleges, ESIC, and AFMS seats for admission into postgraduate medical sciences courses. 

There will be four rounds of NEET PG counselling conducted by MCC for the above-mentioned seats. The state authorities will conduct counselling for the remaining 50% of AIQ seats. 

The counselling begins with online registration and concludes with reporting offline to the allotted institute with all documents. Here is the NEET PG counselling process explained below: 

STEP-1: Registration for NEET PG Counselling

Candidates have to register on the official website of MCC to participate in the NEET counselling process. Once you have registered, you do not need to register for each round. 

These steps are to be followed for registration:

  • Go to the official website MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)
  • Click on NEET PG counselling.
  • Register through your registered mobile number and valid email ID. 
  • Note the Login Credentials. 
  • Login again to fill in the registration form. 
  • Enter Academic and Personal details in the form.
  • Preview before submitting the application form.

STEP- 2: Choice Filling

This step includes Tuition and Registration fees, submission of choices, edit and modify, submission of application. Candidates are required to pay the registration fee to participate in the NEET PG counselling.

NEET PG counselling fee has to pay through online mode, UPI Payments, Net banking, Credit/debit Card. 

STEP- 3: Seat Allotment 

Following the choice filling step, the seat allotment process will begin. Candidates will be assigned seats based on their filled choices, available seats, category, and so on.

STEP- 4: Reporting

Reporting step consists of two rounds i.e., Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-up Round. Following are the details for all the three  rounds-:

Round 1:

  • After the seat allotment, candidates are required to report to the allotted institute and complete the admission process.
  • Free- Exit :If a candidate is not interested in taking admission into the allotted institute, they can upgrade their application form for round 2, can exit without losing the security deposit amount.  

Round 2:

  • After round 1, New candidates and free exit candidates are eligible for fresh registration and registered candidates are not required to register again for the counselling. 
  • Candidates who wish to exit from round 2, can exit from round 2. 
  • Allotted candidates have to report to the allocated institute and complete the admission process. 
  • Exit with Forfeiture – Candidates who wish to exit after seat allotment in the second round, will be losing the security deposit amount. 
  • The remaining rounds will be conducted based on seat availability, and other aspects. 

Mop-up Round:

  • This round will be conducted for deemed/ ESIC institutes. 
  • Candidates who exited rounds 1 and 2 are required to register for mop-up counselling.
  • Candidates are not required to register again for the mop-up round  if they did not get a seat in round 1 and round 2. 
  • But all candidates have to make fresh choices/colleges in this mop-up round for the seat allotment. 

How to Fill Choices in NEET PG Counselling

After filling out the application form, candidates are required to choose their options for counselling. They can choose the desired college and course from the list provided by  MCC on the online portal, and they can choose as many options as you want. 

Some important points to keep in mind while filling out the choices, please find them below;

  • The options will be given on the left side of the screen and once chosen, it will move to the right side of the screen page. 
  • The options can be added and deleted from the list. 
  • Candidates should lock the choices before submitting otherwise it will be locked automatically after the due date of the choice filling. 
  • After finishing the choosing, candidates are advised to preview and submit the form. Seat allotment will be completed based on your choices.

  • Go to the Official website MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
  • Login through the registration credentials. 
  • Fill the choice in the application form for seat allotment.
  • Drag the choices for the priority order.
  • Click on the Save and Next to lock and finish the application form.
