JEE Physics Syllabus with Weightage

Physics is a tough and interesting subject. It contains both theoretical concepts and numerical problems. Candidates must have a good understanding of the concepts and theorems.

Topics like magnetism, electricity, and thermodynamics are very important, as they contain the maximum weightage. One of the best books for physics is Concepts of Physics by H.C. Verma, Vol 1 and 2.

Pro Tip:

  1. Electrostatics is a very lengthy but easy subject. Every year, there are three to four questions on this topic.
  2. Current electricity is a short topic but scoring as well. Every year, questions on colour coding, Ohm’s Law, and other topics are common in JEE Main.
  3. Electromagnetic induction and alternating current are also easy topics for JEE Main.
  4. Semiconductor & Electronic Devices, Communications, Units & Dimensions, Error Measurement (Relative and Absolute), Instruments. These are short and scoreable topics. In JEE Main, usually you can find one question from each of these topics. So, don’t think of skipping these topics. You can easily fetch 16 to 20 marks from these.
